Ryan has B.S. in biochemistry from Santa Clara University where he worked on developing novel methods for aptamer selection using CE. He then moved on to Genentech for 2 years developing FT-NIR methods to analyze stability of lyophilized drug products. He joined the Pharmaceutics department at the University of Washington in 2015 working under Dr. Nichole Klatt. He is a CoMotion Innovative Development Fellow focusing on evaluating UW technologies and assessing for their patentability and marketability. As a PhD candidate, his current research focuses on the impact of mucosal microbial communities while working on the development of microbiota based therapies to modulate host immunity and enhance drug effectiveness to improve disease outcomes.
