Professor MAUREEN COETZEE, MSc, PhD
Fellow of the Royal Society of South Africa, Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society, London, Fellow of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene
Currently Director of the Wits Research Institute for Malaria at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. She holds a DST/NRF South African Research Chair in Medical Entomology & Vector Control.
Her research interests on African malaria vector mosquitoes include biodiversity, biology and insecticide resistance. She has published over 200 scientific papers and book chapters and received many awards including a Certificate of Distinction from the Council of the International Congresses of Entomology, USA (2016) and the John N. Belkin Memorial Award, American Mosquito Control Association, USA (2012) She has recently been appointed to the Malaria Policy Advisory Committee of the World Health Organization.
