Karen Affleck PhD

Dr Karen Affleck is a team leader in the Adaptive Immunity Research Unit at GSK based in Stevenage in the UK. After gaining her PhD from the University of Nottingham on targeting cancer cells with drug-antibody conjugates, she joined GSK in 1990 originally working on oncology projects before moving into the Respiratory Therapeutic Area early in her career. She has subsequently worked on many drug discovery projects in both asthma and COPD ranging from stages of target identification and validation to biology supporting clinical molecules.
