Dr. Jianye Zang received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Science & Technology of China in 2003, and worked as a post-doctoral fellow from 2003 to 2007 in National Jewish Medical and Research Center, USA. He joined the faculty of School of Life Sciences, University of Science & Technology of China in 2007. He was selected by the “Hundred Talents Program” of CAS in 2009. Dr. Zang’ group is interested in understanding the epigenetic mechanism for the maintenance of genome stability. The research in Dr. Zang’s lab focuses on exploring the mechanism for the assembly of centromere and kinetochore, and their roles in faithful transmission of genetic information across generations. They use X-ray crystallographic, Cryo-EM, biochemical, molecular biological and other biophysical techniques to explore the fascinating questions.
