Heewon Jung, MD., is an Enrolled Technical Research Personnel, PhD candidate at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), doing researches on skeletal muscle regeneration and intestinal regeneration using animal injury models. He received education and training at Seoul National University, and Seoul National University Hospital. During his training of internal medicine and clinical geriatrics, he built many descriptive evidences on physical frailty in older people of South Korea. He has been involved in establishing several observational and interventional cohort studies regarding frailty in South Korea. In 2016, he cofounded the DynamicPhysiology, a startup company developing research tools for biomedical translational researches and clinical researches. He has received scholarships and awards including the Global PhD fellowship from the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), Young researcher's grant from the Korean Geriatric Society (KGS) in recognition of his efforts to perform challenging studies regarding aging issues of South Korea.
