University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus

Hannah E. Jones is a 2nd year graduate student in the lab of Dr. Julie Siegenthaler at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Hannah began her scientific career as an undergraduate in the lab of Dr. Sharon Gerecht at the Johns Hopkins Institute for NanoBioTechnology (INBT). Under the mentorship of Dr. Quinton Smith, she studied cellular mechanosensing and ciliogenesis in endothelial cells derived from human iPSCs. After earning her B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Hannah enrolled at the University of Colorado to pursue a PhD in the Cell Biology, Stem Cells, and Development (CSD) Program and began work in the Siegenthaler Lab in July 2019. Her research focuses on characterizing a subset of fibroblasts that reside on CNS vasculature called perivascular fibroblasts, with a goal of understanding the origins and molecular mechanisms important for the development of these cells.
