Dr. Josiane Etang is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Douala in Cameroon. She has been working in the field of Medical Entomology, Parasitology and Tropical Medicine for more than 20 years, first as a student at the University of Yaounde I in Cameroon where she obtained her PhD in 2003, and then as a researcher at the Organisation de Coordination pour la lutte contre les Endémies en Afrique Centrale (OCEAC) in Cameroon since 2006. Dr Etang has published several research papers and contributed in capacity development of many young scientists in Africa. One of the major accomplishments in her research career is the Fellowship awarded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in 2016. With this grant, she is now conducting an important research project on innovative technologies for insecticide screening, at the Center for Insect Biotechnology and Bio-resources, Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany.
