My research focuses on identification and treatment of growth faltering among infants aged below 6 months old (u6m) in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) which is an overlooked area in research, policy and guidelines. I am also involved in capacity building and training of young African scientists, mentorship and research stewardship. I am currently the principal investigator in five studies investigating the role of breastfeeding and breastmilk quality and quantity in survival and thriving of growth faltering infants under 6 months. The studies involve leading and collaborating with multi-center and multi-country research teams in Kenya, Ethiopia, Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
