Justin is a Research Fellow at the Division of Immunology of the University of Cape Town, a senior researcher within the Cytokine and Diseases Research Group of the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in South Africa and a researcher for the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation of Cameroon with a particular interest on the Immunology of Parasitic Helminths.

Justin graduated in Biochemistry and Public Health Biotechnology from the University of Yaoundé 1 in Cameroon, working on the impact of host genetics on antimalarial therapy efficiency. He then completed a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Wurzburg in Germany researching on the molecular bases of host-parasites interactions in the context of parasitic helminth infections with Tapeworms. He further trained on Helminth Immunology using murine models of Schistosomiasis and Hookworm infections at the University of Cape Town in South Africa and coordinated clinical schistosomiasis studies in the rural areas of its home country Cameroon as a researcher of the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation. Justin currently leads a research Unit based within the cytokines and Diseases Group of Prof Brombacher in the Division of Immunology of the University of Cape Town, focusing on the Immunology of Helminth infections aimed at defining better control strategies.

His career has been supported by the German Research Foundation, the Claude Leon Foundation, the Academy of Science of South Africa, and currently, the National Research Foundation of South Africa, the Merck Global Health Institute, the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and the European Union via the European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership.
