Swapnika obtained her Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Southern California, identifying a novel tumor suppressor role for a key lymphangiogenesis regulator in the laboratory of Young-Kwon Hong. She then spent several years working in the biotech and healthcare sectors in India before joining Cell Press in 2017 as an editor at iScience. In March 2020, Swapnika joined the editorial team at Med, the flagship clinical and translational journal from Cell Press, and serves as associate editor overseeing subject areas such as cancer biology, immuno-oncology and neuroscience, among others.
