Katherine Brown is the Executive Editor of the journal Development, published by the not-for-profit publisher The Company of Biologists. In this role, she works with the international team of Academic Editors and in-house staff to ensure the smooth running of the journal and plan future strategy to better serve the developmental biology and stem cell community. Katherine received her PhD in developmental biology from the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, UK, and undertook her postdoctoral work at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg, Germany. In 2008, she became a Scientific Editor at The EMBO Journal before taking up her current position in 2011.
