Irelene Ricks PhD

Irelene P. Ricks is a native Washingtonian who has been working in the field of education for over twenty years.  Dr. Ricks has served as a program manager, grants administrator, policy analyst, adjunct faculty, and technical writer for Federal agencies, non-profits, and universities.  She has been involved in the development of award-winning education and research training programs, including science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education that impact K-12 and postsecondary student and early career professionals.  Dr. Ricks has worked for members of Congress and the Senate; the Office of Management and Budget; the U.S. Agency for International Development; and non-profits in STEM fields, such as the American Society for Cell Biology; the Biotechnology Institute; the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, and the American Association for State Colleges and Universities (AASCU).  Dr. Ricks currently serves as Director of Diversity, Life Sciences for Keystone Symposia in Colorado, and teaches Grants and Contracts to medical professionals and healthcare administrators at Johns Hopkins University School of Education.  She completed her doctorate at Howard University in Political Science and was an undergraduate pre-law major at Georgetown University.
