Oladipo Elijah Kolawole, B.Tech, MSc (PhD Candidate) received his B.Tech (Hons) in Microbiology from Department of Pure and Applied Biology, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology; MSc in Medical Microbiology and Parasitology {Virology Option) from Department of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology, College of Health Sciences, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology; he is a doctoral student of Microbiology (Virology/immunology Option) currently awaiting his final defense at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Nigeria. His major research focus is on infectious diseases caused by RNA viruses, the molecular epidemiology/surveillance, diagnosis, pathogenesis and molecular immunology, viral immunology and oncology, viral computational biology, antiviral resistance and antibiotics resistance. Also into interspecies transmission dynamics of emerging infectious diseases particularly those caused by RNA viruses such as influenza. My research is directed towards uncovering how host immune pressure and transmission affects genetic diversity of RNA viruses alongside understanding of innate immunity to RNA viruses. I hope that one day I will become a principal investigator to solve scientific problems in Africa as regards viral infectious diseases.
