Thais Crippa de Oliveira MD

University of Sao Paulo

I am a biological scientist initiating my PhD in biomedical sciences at University of São Paulo (São Paulo, Brazil) in the Department of Parasitology. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and in Science and Technology from the Federal University of ABC, with a Master's Degree in Parasitology from the University of São Paulo.
Currently my main scientific interest is genomic analyses applied in population genetic; regarding this issue, we will publish a study about genome-wide diversity in New World populations of Plasmodium vivax. I am also interested in their further potential differentiation across the time and in different regions in the world, and one of my goals is to understand the transmission dynamics in Bacian Amazon, responsible of 99% of cases of malaria in Brazil.
