Professor Irene Ng is Chair of Pathology and Loke Yew Professor in Pathology at The University of Hong Kong. In addition, she is the Director of the State Key Laboratory of Liver Research of The University of Hong Kong. Professor Irene Ng graduated with an M.B.B.S. degree from the University of Hong Kong and obtained her MD and PhD degrees in molecular pathology in 1995 and 2005, respectively. Her current research focuses on the integrated functional genomics of liver cancer using genome-scale technologies coupled with clinical translational studies. Her research also aims to delineate the molecular and cellular mechanisms of this cancer, characterizing driver genes, pathways and cancer stem cells. Professor Ng has published more than 400 peer-reviewed journal articles.
