Irene
received her Ph.D. in Molecular Neuroscience from the University of Zurich,
Switzerland. Following her postdoctoral training at Caltech, USA with Mary B.
Kennedy, she was junior group leader and principal investigator at the
Technical University of Zurich (ETH) and University of Zurich, respectively. In
2010 she received the Venia Legendi (PD) from the Medical Faculty of the
University of Zurich and was appointed as Assistant Professor in Molecular
Neuroscience in 2012. Irene joined Roche NORD DTA as lab head in 2013 where she
was responsible for the initiation and advancement of new drug discovery
programs focusing on neuroimmunological mechanisms in neurodegenerative
diseases. Since 2016, Irene is heading the new Neuroimmunology section and
responsible for the early drug discovery programs in Multiple Sclerosis,
Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease.
