Dr. Klemm is a Senior Research Advisor in the vaccines group at the Wellcome Trust. She leads programmes to establish and promote the role that vaccines play in reducing antimicrobial resistance and to increase evidence-informed decision-making. Previously she was a senior scientist at the Wellcome Sanger Institute where she studied bacterial pathogens and antimicrobial resistance using next generation sequencing, including characterizing the first outbreak of extensively drug-resistant (XDR) typhoid. She has published articles on bacterial pathogenesis, host adaptation, and immune evasion. Dr. Klemm completed her doctorate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
