Douglas Landsman, Ph.D. is the Associate Vice President, Biomedical Research at the National MS Society. He is responsible for leading the academic biomedical research portfolio, overseeing the fellowship and faculty award programs, and providing staff leadership for the research activities of the International Progressive MS Alliance. Dr. Landsman joined the Society in 2014 with over 12 years of experience in the patient advocacy organization sector. Prior to joining the Society Dr. Landsman was the Director of Special Initiatives at the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. Dr. Landsman received his Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Maryland, and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pennsylvania where he studied the mechanisms of nerve regeneration after injury.
