Dr. Bourdette currently serves as the chair of the Department of Neurology and director of the Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Center at OHSU. He received his medical degree in 1978 from the University of California-Davis Medical School. He completed his medicine residency at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, and his neurology residency at OHSU. He completed his neuroimmunology fellowship at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Portland.
